It wasn’t me! Guilty German short haired pointer called Shiner can’t even look at his owner after he turned on the bathroom tap and almost flooded his home

  • The German short haired pointer recently learned how to open doors
  • His owner Paige Bodden said she got home early from work to meet a workman
  • Footage showed Shiner the dog looking guilty as he was told off by his owner

A dog turned on the bathtub tap and would have flooded his home if his owner hadn’t got home early for work.

Shiner, a German short haired pointer, recently learned to open doors at his home in Skiatook, OK, USA.

His owner Paige Bodden said she got home early to meet someone to fix her dryer vent and wouldn’t have caught the rapidly filling bathtub in time otherwise.

Footage shows Shiner looking guilty as he was told off by his owner alongside their other dogs Kevin the papillon and a pitbull named Thor.

In the short clip their owner said: ‘Did you turn on the bathtub while we were gone?

‘Did you break into the bathroom and turn on the bathtub while we were gone. Almost flood the house. Did you do it?’

Ms Bodden said she came home to find the bathtub was ‘about 0.3 micro milliliters from overflowing’.

She added: ‘Honestly I came home and was kind of confused by the sound of running water.

‘Initially I thought the Wet Bandits from home alone had struck. I followed the sound to the guest bathroom and found the tub about 0.3 micro milliliters from overflowing.

‘I normally get home much later but I had to meet someone to fix our dryer vent.

‘Shiner is almost 4 and just recently discovered how to open all of our doors… the shower handle looks the same.’
