Comedian Kevin Hart has been caught texting while driving on a California highway just 18 months after breaking his back in three places in a crash caused by ‘reckless driving.’
Exclusive DailyMail.com photos show the 41-year-old Jumanji actor talking on the phone and sending text messages as he drove his distinctive vintage black Mustang car down the 405 Freeway close to Long Beach on Sunday.
Hart kept to the speed limit of 65mph but was so distracted by his conversation, he kept weaving in and out of traffic, an eyewitness told DailyMail.com.
‘He was on the freeway between Irvine and Long Beach. It was so erratic – he kept speeding up, slowing down and weaving in and out of traffic.
‘Kevin was there on the phone talking and texting. I just thought given all the accidents he’s had, ”Dude, what are you doing?”’
This comes as pro golfer Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car crash Tuesday that shattered his leg and left him hospitalized.

The 41-year-old has a lengthy history of driving incidents – most recently a September 2019 smash that left him in hospital for 10 days.
His friend Jared Black was driving Hart’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda car when he lost control of the vehicle while using a handsfree device on Mullholland Highway in Calabasas.
Both Hart and Black were hospitalized after the crash which the California Highway Patrol said was caused by ‘reckless driving’ on Black’s part.
Neither man – nor the third passenger Rebecca Broxterman – was wearing a seatbelt at the time and police said the rear seats had been replaced by plastic storage boxes.
A police report seen by DailyMail.com adds: ‘There were fold and crease marks on the belt surfaces consistent with being folded and tucked into the seats and no indicators of occupant loading were present.’

Kevin Hart released a video showing him in physical therapy following the crash in Malibu
Hart had surgery to fuse his spine after fracturing three vertebrae in the crash
Hart, who tried to walk away from the scene of the crash, was forced to have extensive surgery on his back, followed by months of physical therapy.
The comedian was involved in another incident in April 2013 when cops pulled him over while doing 90mph in the early hours of the morning.
Dad-of-four Hart was seen weaving through lanes of traffic and almost smashed into a gas tanker truck before failing a sobriety test at the roadside.
In a statement made at the time, the LAPD said: ‘Mr. Hart had objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform the field sobriety tests.’
Hart, who was booked into jail and held on a $5,000 bond, tweeted after the incident: ‘When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said ‘WHY WASTE OUR TIME … I’M DRUNK MAN.’
He later changed his tune and described the incident as a ‘wake-up call’ on social media.
Hart said: ‘This is a wake-up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn’t … everything happens for a reason.’
He added: ‘Drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid … this!’
In August 2013, Hart was found guilty of one misdemeanor count of DUI and sentenced to three years’ probation.

Twice-married Hart has also proved controversial off the road and was deprived of hosting duties at the 2019 Oscars after it was revealed he had sent a string of homophobic tweets between 2010 and 2011.
In 2017, he faced censure after DailyMail.com revealed he had cheated on his second wife Eniko Parrish while she was pregnant with their son Kenzo Kash.
Aspiring actress Montia Sabbag, now 29, told how she had sex with the comedian three times in his luxury suite at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, including one encounter that was taped and then leaked.
Sabbag said Hart did not mention his wife, telling DailyMail.com: ‘Yes we were intimate, I did not know he was married but I found out later.
‘I was a little bit upset, confused about it because the way he was acting it didn’t seem like he was married. But I was caught in the moment, he’s an adult.
‘We partied, we drank and we ended up being intimate three times over the course of three days.
‘It was fun, he didn’t try to woo me, it was just an instant connection.’
Hart later made a public apology to wife Eniko and now has two children with her after daughter Kaori May arrived last September.
