Moment Wisconsin QB Tyler Van Dyke is slammed to the ground in brutal hit and carted off in huge injury scare
Wisconsin quarterback Tyler Van Dyke was carted into the locker room after getting injured against No. 4 Alabama on Saturday.
The Badgers signal caller appeared to injure his knee on the opening drive of the highly-anticipated matchup in Wisconsin.
Van Dyke scrambled on third down and was tackled near the sideline, slamming down onto the turf.
He immediately clutched his right knee after being hurt and was taken into the injury tent on the sideline, before exiting on a cart.
The Miami transfer looked devastated with his head in his hands as the cart headed toward the locker room. He was ruled out before the start of the second half.

Braedyn Locke, who started three games in place of an injured Tanner Mordecai last season, took over for Van Dyke.
The Badgers ended up taking a 3-0 lead after kicking a field goal on the drive, but Van Dyke’s injury overshadowed the strong start. The Crimson Tide ultimately took a 7-3 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Van Dyke’s injury comes just two days after NFL quarterback Tua Tagovailoa exited the Miami Dolphins’ Week 2 game after also going down after a hard hit.
Tagovailoa slammed to the turf following a hit by Damar Hamlin during the third quarter of the Miami Dolphins ‘ loss to the Buffalo Bills and appeared to go straight into the fencing response.
It was the signal caller’s third known concussion of his NFL career , having suffered a history of head injuries dating back to 2022.
However, despite also being slammed to the ground, Van Dyke did not appear to have sustained a head injury amid concussion fears currently shrouding the sport.
Van Dyke completed 38 of 63 passes (60.3 percent) for 406 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Wisconsin’s first two victories over Western Michigan and South Dakota.
