Police are searching for six suspects who punched an Asian woman several times in the face for not wearing a mask and said ‘anti-Asian statements’ about the coronavirus to her on a subway train.

On December 17 at 1.45pm the group – three women and three men – approached the woman, 32, on a southbound A train at the West 4th Street station in Manhattan.

They allegedly confronted her for not wearing a mask and made anti-Asian statements about the virus to her, police say, as per ABC7.

Their verbal attack became physical and the victim was punched several times in the face before the group ran away.
