Tiger Woods‘ former mistress Rachel Uchitel has insisted she doesn’t ‘date unavailable men’ — after DailyMail.com published an exclusive video that shows her passionately kissing married lawyer Ed Batts.
Uchitel, 45, was promoting HBO’s new documentary about Woods’ life, Tiger, on Thursday night’s episode of Extra when host Billy Bush brought up the footage of her canoodling with Batts, 47, prompting her to defend their relationship.
‘I’m an old acquittance,’ she said. ‘He reached out to me. Nothing physical happened until they had started to file for divorce.’
Coming clean: Rachel Uchitel, 45, opened up about her relationship with married lawyer Ed Batts on Thursday’s episode of Extra, insisting: ‘I don’t date unavailable men’
Uchitel was confronted with the video after she opened up about her affair with Woods, telling Bush she isn’t the homewrecker she has been portrayed to be.
‘The whole thing has made my life a living hell for the last 10 years, and I wanted to tell my story on HBO because I wanted people to see what really happened,’ she said. ‘I was not a mistress, and I was in a real relationship and I want people to leave me alone about it.’
Uchitel is notorious for her part in the affair that ended golfer Woods’ marriage to Swedish model Elin Nordegren in 2009
‘I made a bad decision,’ she said. ‘And I regret it, and I’m embarrassed about it, and…my apology is to two people, not the world, two people.
‘I wish people would be understanding about it, and maybe leave me alone, and maybe look inside themselves and realize that maybe they’ve made a mistake like that,’ she added.
The former nightclub hostess, who appears in HBO’s upcoming documentary about Woods, told Bush she ‘wanted to set the record straight on what happened’ between them.
Caught on camera: The interview came just days after DailyMail.com published an exclusive video that shows her kissing Batts at the Denver airport on December 13
Telling her side: The former nightclub hostess insisted ‘nothing physical happened’ between them until Batts, 47, ‘had started to file for divorce’
Living it up: A receipt seen by DailyMail.com shows how Batts splashed out $1,234 on dinners for Uchitel during their weekend at the five-star Amangani resort in Jackson Hole Wyoming
‘I have been silent for over a decade now, and I felt that it was really important to me to speak only once in my life, because I have spent all these years letting people think what they want to think and say what they want to say,’ she said.
‘I needed to take the shackles off and be able tell my story for me. I have spent years under the shame of what’s been going on.’
The two-part documentary premieres on HBO and HBO Max on January 10 and 17.
‘I am looking forward to this documentary coming out because it really does show that the media took the opportunity to blame me for someone else humiliating their wife,’ Uchitel said.
She admitted that the aftermath of her affair with Woods affects her every day, saying one moment shouldn’t define your entire life.
‘I don’t like to be branded as a mistress. I don’t like to be branded as a homewrecker — that’s not who I am. I’m a 45-year-old woman. I made one wrong turn 10 years ago,’ she said. I didn’t throw somebody down the stairs. I didn’t kill someone. I made a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes.’
Uchital shared that she has recently connected with Monica Lewinsky, who was publicly shamed after she had an affair with former president Bill Clinton as a White House intern.
‘I have to keep that interaction private,’ she said, adding: ‘She’s a very nice woman.’
Not a mistress: Extra host Billy Bush brought up the footage of Uchitel canoodling with Batts, 47, prompting her to defend their relationship
Hard to handle: Uchitel got emotional while discussing the ‘mistake’ she made when she had an affair with Tiger Woods a decade ago
Uchitel also refused to divulge whether Woods has ever reached out to her to say anything encouraging or apologetic when asked, saying: ‘I can’t answer.’
‘I would just hope that maybe at this point, now that everybody knows my name, they might just maybe want to believe me a little bit,’ she said through tears. ‘That I’m not that awful of a person and they could maybe give me a chance this time around.’
Uchitel’s emotional interview comes just days after DailyMail.com caught Uchitel and Batts canoodling at the Denver airport on December 13, as they made their way home from an illicit weekend at a luxury hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
A hotel receipt seen by DailyMail.com shows how Batts splashed out $1,234 on dinners for Uchitel during their weekend at the five-star Amangani resort, as well as buying her Tampax and a hairbrush.
A week later, Batts left his wife of six years and her kids from a previous marriage behind in San Diego, California, for a new life in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Uchitel and her eight-year-old daughter Wyatt.
He now lives in a rented three-bedroom townhome across the street from Uchitel’s apartment block, although the two spend most of their time together and have been photographed repeatedly by DailyMail.com while enjoying their new life.
Both Batts and Uchitel denied they were dating to DailyMail.com. Batts also denied that he moved to Florida to be with Uchitel.

Claims: Batts’ devastated wife Robyn, 59, (right) told DailyMail.com that he allegedly began an affair with Uchitel at the end of November and walked out on her less than a month later

But on Sunday, Uchitel was seen getting out of Batts’ distinctive Porsche Cayenne SUV outside her home.
Meanwhile, Batts has been pictured walking her dog and spending time with her daughter Wyatt, as well as getting to know the area with a visit to a local CVS pharmacy.
They have also been photographed repeatedly dipping in and out of each other’s homes.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Batts’ devastated wife Robyn, 59, alleged he began an affair with Uchitel at the end of November after meeting her online and walked out less than a month later — leaving her heartbroken.
Batts had kept his plan to leave secret — shipping his Porsche to Florida days before his departure, with Robyn claiming he told her it was at the dealership to be repaired.
Court filings seen by DailyMail.com show Batts filed for divorce on December 17.
She only realized he was leaving her on December 19 when he boarded a red-eye flight to Florida and allegedly closed their family bank account, leaving her without any access to family funds.
Claim to fame: Uchitel is notorious for her part in the affair that ended golfer Woods’ marriage to Swedish model Elin Nordegren in 2009
Drama: The fling came to light after a furious Nordegren discovered steamy texts from Uchitel on Woods’ phone and chased him from their home with a golf club, only for him to crash into a fire hydrant and his neighbor’s tree
Insistence: Uchitel later said she regretted the affair, telling the Mail on Sunday in 2010: ‘I plunged headfirst into relationships which I should never have been in. I will never, ever do that [sleep with a married man] again’
‘It’s such a huge betrayal. The kids are devastated. They wanted him there at Christmas and he wasn’t there,’ Robyn said.
‘They didn’t want gifts and they didn’t want friends coming around to support us — they just wanted their dad at Christmas.’
She added: ‘He canceled the bank account and left town. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I feel so sideswiped.
‘This came out of nowhere so I’m still in shock. I’m really still in shock. He’s down there spending it large with Rachel.’
Robyn was newly widowed when she met Batts in 2012. Then living in Colorado, she had three small children and was swept off her feet by him. Less than a year later, Batts asked her to move in with him in San Diego.
The couple later bought a five-bedroom $5.5 million Spanish-style property where they have lived since their 2014 wedding.
According to Robyn, he was also willing to be a father to her children, now aged 20, 15, and 14, who barely knew their biological dad due to his untimely death from cancer.
Saying I do: The following year, she married former football star Matt Hahn (pictured) who fathered their daughter Wyatt during a short marriage that ended in 2014
Not a fan: Batts’ wife Robyn slammed Uchitel, telling DailyMail.com: ‘I just have no words for someone like that. People like that don’t change’
She said she had no idea that anything was wrong with her marriage until she noticed Batts becoming cold and aloof around Thanksgiving.
‘I noticed he was treating us badly. Angry. Didn’t have any time for us. At Thanksgiving, I noticed he couldn’t wait to get up from the table,’ she recalled.
‘Then on December 5, we all went to get a Christmas tree together and we spent two days doing decorations. He didn’t seem very interested in it.’
Robyn believes it was around then that he met Uchitel, who is notorious for her part in the affair that ended golfer Woods’ marriage to Nordegren.
The infamous fling came to light after a furious Nordegren discovered steamy texts from Uchitel on Woods’ phone and chased him from their home with a golf club, only for him to crash into a fire hydrant and his neighbor’s tree.
Uchitel later said she regretted the affair, telling the Mail on Sunday in 2010: ‘I plunged headfirst into relationships which I should never have been in. I will never, ever do that [sleep with a married man] again.’
But she wasn’t being entirely truthful: at the time of the interview, she was already embroiled in another affair with Angel actor David Boreanaz whose wife was pregnant.
The following year, she married former football star Matt Hahn who fathered their daughter Wyatt during a short marriage that ended in 2014.
