State Department encourages embassies to fly BLM flag on anniversary of George Floyd’s death

State Department encourages US embassies to fly BLM flag and promote the group on first anniversary of George Floyd’s death as Tucker Carlson brands the organization a ‘national humiliation’

  • The leaked memo encouraged diplomatic posts to mark the anniversary
  • It suggests raising the BLM flag or using the term in speeches and addresses
  • Tucker Carlson said it proves the State Department does not like America

A leaked State Department memo revealed US embassies were instructed to show support for Black Lives Matter today on the one-year anniversary of George Floyd‘s death.

The document provided to Human Events News reportedly encouraged ‘diplomatic and consular posts’ to fly the organization’s flag and use its name in messages and speeches.

The memo was leaked from within the State Department by a source wishing to remain anonymous.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed the memo and said it was the latest example of the government bowing to BLM’s demands.

A spokesperson for the State Department declined to comment when approached by DailyMail.com.

According to Human Events, the document read: ‘The Department supports the use of the term Black Lives Matter in messaging content, speeches, and other diplomatic engagements with foreign audiences to advance racial equity and access to justice on May 25 and beyond.

‘We encourage posts to focus on the need to eliminate systemic racism and its continued impact.’

The memo makes clear the government does not consider Black Lives Matter to be one organization but a movement and a rallying cry for protesters.

On his Fox News show Monday night Carlson said: ‘Should American ambassadors come out against the nuclear family as BLM has, for socialism as BLM has, for race hatred as BLM does every day?

‘What the State Department doesn’t appear to understand, or maybe this is the whole point, is that the existence of BLM is a national humiliation to the United States.

‘Have we ever had a State Department whose message to the world is, “yes, the United States is terrible”, that’s exactly the message they are sending, that’s what they believe.

‘Should people who don’t like the country be running the country? They are.’

National Review writer Deroy Murdoch said the outcry would be far worse if Donald Trump ordered US buildings to fly the flags of other organizations such as the NRA.

He said: ‘Imagine if in 2025 if Donald J. Trump is reelected president with (Vice) President Ron DeSantis.

‘Imagine a few U.S. embassies overseas, are flying flags of the National Rifle Association, or the national right to life committee.’
