The little chef shot to fame after Xin Bao’s mother shared clips of his ‘cooking’ videos on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok.
One of the videos, which has amassed over 1.4 million ‘likes’, shows the boy skilfully tossing the toy wok while using a stool as a fake stove.
He then turned around while lifting the pan with his spatula as though he was adding some ingredients to his dish.
His mother told MailOnline that Xin Bao had been watching his father prepare dishes at their family restaurant since he was an infant in eastern China’s Hefei city.
‘He had enjoyed watching his father cook since he was five, six months old,’ Ms Su said. ‘He also really liked playing with woks. He would stop crying whenever we give him toy woks.
‘I didn’t think too much of it at the start. I just thought it was quite funny,’ she added.

‘It’s not a bad thing if he wants to be a chef when he grows up, as long as he’s doing something that makes him happy’ Ms Su said.
‘Of course, as his mother, I still hope he would work hard and get into a good university so that he could find a job that is less physically demanding than [being a chef].’
