The famously frosty exes found themselves at the center of a sensational scandal just a few months ago when details about their bitter split were laid bare – however insiders now say that the former couple have overcome their differences and are in ‘constant communication’ while successfully parenting their two kids, Daisy, six, and Otis, eight.
A source close to Olivia, 38, and Jason, 47, insisted that the pair ‘do not have any drama anymore’, adding that they are both ‘very single’ following the actress’s split from Harry Styles.
The two ignited speculation that they were headed for a recoupling in January, when they were spotted being super touchy-feely with each other in Los Angeles, however the source noted that they are not currently in a romantic relationship and are instead focusing on ‘friendship’.
‘Jason and Olivia are on very good terms and have become friends again,’ they said, revealing that improved relations between the pair have had a ‘very positive impact’ on the co-parenting of their two children.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have put their bitter split behind them and are ‘on very good terms’, a source has revealed – after the former couple put on an affectionate display in LA
Jason, 47, and Olivia, 38, are currently both ‘very single’, the insider added – although the source noted that they are focusing on a ‘friendship’ right now and not a romance
The two amicable exes have been stuck in a nasty bi-coastal custody battle for the past several years – due in large part to the fact that Olivia lives in LA and Jason lives in New York City – which caused huge controversy when the actress was served with custody papers while on-stage in front of 4,000 industry executives.
However, the duo have now put any anger and resentment behind them, the source shared.
‘Olivia and Jason have resolved any past issues and tension that was caused by their split,’ they said.
‘They are in constant communication via phone calls and text messages and keep each other up to date on anything involving their kids, whether it be appointments, or their schooling.’
‘Most importantly, they are happy in their own lives. This has made it so much easier for them to be on the same page and treat each other with respect,’ says the source.
Following their split in 2020, Olivia and Jason initially seemed to be very much on the same page and were very cordial to each other, putting their children first.
After she and Jason split in 2020, Olivia met Harry at a party for Irving Azoff. At the time, production was beginning for Olivia’s directorial debut film, Don’t Worry Darling, which she also starred in.
The drama off-set took center stage when Olivia got into a blowout fight with the lead actor, Shia LaBouf. After his exit, Olivia replaced him with Harry, who had only had a few acting roles prior.

In January 2021, rumors that Olivia and Harry were more than just friends and co-stars were confirmed when they were spotted holding hands in public. Harry then solidified the situation when he referred to her as his ‘girlfriend.’
Shortly thereafter, her cordial co-parenting with Jason turned ugly. In April 2022, Olivia was served with a legal papers regarding the custody of Otis and Daisy while she was giving a speech on her newest movie, Don’t Worry Darling.
In August 2022, Olivia responded to Jason’s filing. In court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, she said that that she and Jason had previously agreed to let the kids finish the school year in L.A., while he filmed Ted Lasso.
‘Recently, however, Jason decided that he wanted to go to New York for the next year while he is not working, and wanted the children to be with him there during this time off,’ Olivia said in the docs. ‘When I did not agree, since the children have not lived in New York for several years, Jason filed these papers.
Regarding inappropriately being served at CinemaCon, Olivia stated that, ‘Jason’s actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard. He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible. The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children’s best interests.’
Jason later responded, apologizing to Olivia by saying that he was ‘very, very sorry’ and that he ‘deeply regretted’ the manner in which she was served. His response detailed the reason for his contesting the children’s previously agreed on custody arrangement.
‘First, Olivia said that if I did not reside full-time in Los Angeles, she would allow me to spend time with Otis and Daisy on weekends and during vacation periods — thus depriving me of my right to parent the children during important periods of their lives.’
He also stated that Olivia had informed him that she wanted to possibly move the kids to London, where she was planning to move with Harry during the height of their romance.

Keeping a low-profile, Harry and Olivia were often seen sneaking out of restaurants and clubs. Needless to say, they did not go unnoticed
‘Olivia said that she intended to relocate with the children to London following the close of school in 2023,’ Jason stated. Olivia and Harry broke up in November 2022, squashing those plans entirely.
In November 2022, Olivia and Harry announced that they were taking some time off from their relationship. In a joint statement to People magazine, their reps said that there was ‘no bad blood’ and that the decision to split was mutual. Shortly after their split, the outlet said that it was ‘difficult’ for Olivia, who was ‘disappointed’ because she hoped to work out their issues.
Harry and Olivia’s relationship has seemingly come to a permanent end. In February, The Mirror reported that ‘Harry is seeing someone. He’s going to great lengths to keep her identity quiet after the circus surrounding his relationship with Olivia.’
‘But his close circles all know about the romance. Though it’s early days, things seem to be going well.’
Olivia has also moved on and is ready to date again, according to a report in Us Weekly. ‘Olivia is ready to date again, making it clear she’s available, and she isn’t looking for anything less than an amazing guy,’ a source told the outlet.
In January, DailyMail.com published exclusive photos of Olivia and Jason showing some major affection towards each other as they exited a meeting in Los Angeles.
They were spotted chatting and smiling at each other on the sidewalk, in plain view of photographers. Before going their separate ways, they gave each other a warm embrace, which was clearly pleasant for both parties.
As they walked away from each other, Olivia continued to smile, as her ex gave her a peace sign, which is a huge indication that thins were turning around for them.
The former couple’s custody battle took a turn for the bitter when Olivia was served with legal papers while on-stage at an event in front of 4,000 industry insiders
Although their custody battle has subsided, Olivia and Jason are now dealing with another massive legal battle that was brought on by their former nanny, Ericka Genaro.
In February, Ericka filed a lawsuit against them in the Los Angeles Superior Court. In the court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, she said that she was fired by them in 2020 after she requested a medical leave. and Jason fired her after she requested medical leave.

She also exposed details of Olivia and Jason’s split, stating that she was put in the middle at the time. ‘Wilde abruptly left the home where she lived with Sudeikis, her two kids and Plaintiff as [a] live-in nanny in November 2020,’ the suit alleged.
‘Wilde’s sudden absence from the home had an adverse consequence on its emotional state, including Sudeikis leaning on the presence of Plaintiff for support,’
‘Although this shared trauma created a bond between Plaintiff and Sudeikis, Plaintiff became increasingly anxious and stressed with Sudeikis’ tendency to seemingly require Plaintiff to stay up at night after the kids were put to bed to talk, whereas that dynamic did not occur before Wilde’s absence.’
‘The subject matter of these late night conversations with Sudeikis naturally evolved into speaking about Wilde, which Plaintiff felt compelled to engage in despite creating extreme anxiety to her as she ostensibly felt she had to pick sides between the parents of the children she was ostensibly the primary caretaker [of.]’P
Prior to filing suit, Ericka previously told DailyMail.com that Jason would constantly reach out to her about Olivia’s relationship with Harry.
‘When I saw Olivia holding hands as a couple with Harry in the news in January 2021, I was shocked as just a month before, when we were in LA, she was sending Jason
Olivia and Jason deny all the accusations made by their former nanny. In a statement, they said, ‘As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.
‘Her now 18-month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.’
