This is what 54 looks like: Supplement brand owner says ‘beditation’ and homeopathic skincare keep her youthful
- Ann-Louise Holland, 54, who lives in Frome, has her own supplement brand
- Singleton spends a few minutes meditating in bed every morning
- Maintains a youthful look using a homeopathic cream that soothes dry skin
Ann-Louise Holland is single and lives in Frome, Somerset. After working in PR for 30 years, she set up her own supplement brand, Kansha Alchemy.
Last December, I moved to Somerset from London and am now able to walk in the fresh air every day. Three times a week, I use the free BorrowMyDoggy app, where you can walk other people’s dogs. I also do yoga in the garden every other day. Yoga is my lifeline: it keeps me strong, flexible and sane!
FIGHT THINNING HAIR
At 40, I was diagnosed with a form of alopecia caused by poor diet. It got worse after breaking up from my long-term partner in 2012. I felt like no one would look at me again! I tried lots of expensive treatments, but nothing worked. So I created my own Good Hair supplements, using herbs, minerals and nutrients, with no synthetic fillers. My hair is now thicker and grows faster, too.

Every morning, I spend a few minutes meditating in bed. I call it ‘beditation’! I love Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey’s free 21-day meditation experience (chopracentermeditation.com). It includes a ten-day guided meditation, plus a positive mantra to repeat each day. It has helped me to reprogramme negative self-talk. And I sleep like a log.
my favourite moisturiser is Seven Cream (£14.25, helios.co.uk), a homeopathic cream that soothes dry skin. I apply it at night and my skin heals better, is plumper, softer and looks more vibrant. During the day, I wear Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Day Cream (£19.80, lookfantastic.com), which is lighter.
My skin is sallow, so I wear make-up every day. I love Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturiser (£30), which gives long-lasting, sheer coverage, and finish with Perricone MD No Makeup Skincare Blush (£29, both lookfantastic.com), a subtle liquid blush which I put on my cheeks.
