Trump impeachment witness’ wife is slammed for mocking former president’s assassination attempt: ‘No ears were harmed’

The wife of an impeachment witness against former president Trump has been slammed for mocking the latest assassination attempt on the Republican nominee.

Rachel Vindman, wife of retired Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman, posted on X saying: ‘No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.’

Vindman had took aim at the president who was struck in the ear following an assassination attempt in July, two months before the events of Sunday.

Her husband had been a key witness in what led House Democrats to impeach Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress in 2019.

His wife’s post has since repulsed high profile Republicans, Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita and Donald Trump Jr.

LaCivita, mistaking her husband for her brother-in-law Eugene Vindman, a Democrat who is running for congress, posted: ‘Her husband a candidate for VA 7 should condemn immediately.’

While Trump Jr posted: ‘These people are f***** demented’, while sharing a screengrab of the post.

Congressman Mike Lawler also berated Vindman, posting on X: ‘This precisely what is wrong with our politics today.

‘Your brother-in-law is running to be a member of Congress and you’re making light of political assassination attempts? Good grief.’

This was echoed by Florida Congressman Mike Waltz, who added: ‘Does this represent the stance of the whole Vindman family? Especially the one running for Congress?’

While one social media user fired back at Hindman writing: ‘You’re a horrible human for making light of this assassination attempt on President Trump.’

After the outpour of disgust over the post, her husband went on the attack, responding to LaCivita’s post saying: ‘I condemn you.

‘I condemn your lack of integrity, your attacks on immigrants, your desecration of Arlington National Cemetery.

‘Your candidate Donald Trump has incited political violence for a decade. He could reduce the temperature of this election cycle. But you MAGA thrive on bullying. Fact is you are all weak.’

His wife then doubled down on the post, later saying: ‘Sorry you’re triggered. I mean no I’m not. I don’t care a little bit.’

She added: ‘Trump has been inciting violence against his enemies for years. He douses a situation in gasoline, lights a match, & walks away claiming no responsibility.

‘Look at what is happening in Springfield, OH right now but he wants to claim he’s a victim. You cannot have it both ways.’

Trump and other high profile conservatives have been claiming that migrants in the city have been eating local wildlife and pets.

Alexander Vindman later referenced this in another post to X, writing: ‘Donald Trump can really reduce the temperature for the remainder of the election and condemn political violence of any stripe.

‘He can start by telling his supporters it is not okay to call in bomb threats against Haitians and attack immigrants or political opponents.’

Last week Springfield City Hall had to be evacuated after a bomb threat was made, with local police saying the threat was sent via email to multiple agencies.

Mayor Rob Rue said the sender identified themselves as a Springfield resident and mentioned frustration with city officials regarding Haitian immigration issues.

Meanwhile National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman Mike Berg pointed out that President Biden had hosted Rachel Vindman at the White House.

In a post to his social media, Berg branded her as being a ‘deranged lunatic’ for her post and pointed out the visit which happened in March of last year.

Alexander Vindman had been on a now infamous call between Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump had asked him for help in digging up dirt on President Biden’s son Hunter, with Vindman listening on the call in his role as a National Security Council official.

He was subpoenaed to testify in Trump’s impeachment after reporting the contents of the call.

The Ukraine-born Vindman served on the NSC along with his twin brother Yevgeny as an expert in Ukrainian affairs. He was director of European Affairs on the NSC.

Trump fired Vindman following the impeachment effort, which resulted in his acquittal.

On Sunday, 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh was apprehended by police after Secret Service agents spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of a bush at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Agents opened fire causing the gunman to flee, with images showing he left behind a backpack, GoPro camera, and an AK-47 style firearm.

When police caught up with the suspect and arrested him, they noted he was ‘relatively calm’ and ‘never asked’ why he was being detained.

The attempt on the life of the former president came two month after the attempt by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks in Butler, Pennsylvania.
