A manager at a Wendy’s restaurant in Tennessee was charged with simple assault after police said he admitted to biting a teenage worker on her shoulder while on the job.

The odd incident took place on November 23 at the Wendy’s location on Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro, according to a report filed by the unnamed 17-year-old employee.

The teenager accused her 53-year-old manager of walking up to her as she arrived for her 4pm shift and biting her on her left shoulder, the Murfreesboro Police Department said in the report. The victim was not injured and did not require medical attention.

The manager told an officer that the teen employee ‘was in the way of the fryer’ when she came in for her shift, and that ‘he was joking when he came up to her and growled,’ the report said. 

He admitted to putting ‘his mouth on her shoulder,’ according to the documents.

Another female employee witnessed the biting incident and told police she ‘thought it was weird,’ according to the MPD report cited by Daily News Journal.

The witness added that ‘things like this happen in the restaurant and tend to be strange,’ the documented stated.

The manager was booked into the Rutherford County jail and released on $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 14.

The manager’s name was not immediately released. has reached out to the local police seeking comment.
